I chose this class because as long as I can remember I have had a passion for film and all its aspects. From directing, writing, scoring, cinematography,
and even film themes and focuses. I love how well films can be created and come together in terms of craftsmanship.
I had also never heard of a class quite like Reel Food and was very interested after learning more about it. '

I am hoping to accomplish more of a familiarity with food films and honestly food in general as I have had a decent exposure to food already.
I am familiar with many great food films such as Chef, Burnt, The 100 Foot Journey, Ratatouille, Julie and Julia, etc.
I am excited and eager to get a bit more exposure to the role food plays in many films, even films that aren't particularly about food.

When it comes to film, picking a favorite is incredibly difficult as I have seen so many time and time again.
However, when I think of a film a love with a deep and sincere passion for the craft, I can think of no other than 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The films score, cinematography, narrative and story, and its state of the art game changing special fx all wrapped into one
make this film the one for me.
The struggle of man versus machine, the power of technology and time, the generated fear and
curiosity of life outside our planet all promote profound thinkers to look beyond their surroundings and
really process the world through another more divine perspective. As far as food in film goes,
nothing has ever stoked my appetite quite like Ratatouille.
I know it seems like a cliche or obvious choice, but this film, no matter when I see it,
never ceases making me hungry beyond measure.
The way that Remi speaks and cooks flows so effortlessly as the audience learns about French cuisine throughout the film alongside Remi's human counterpart, Linguini, and that truly anyone can be a cook.
